Privacy Policy

What's the Hex? processes a screenshot of the visible portion of the active browser tab only after the user clicks the extension toolbar button or its context-menu command. The screenshot is used locally and temporarily to let the user inspect a pixel's color.

Data collection and use

What's the Hex? does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal information, browsing history, website content, analytics, or usage data. The visible-tab screenshot is held in memory on the user's device and discarded when the picker closes or the page is unloaded.

The extension does not use remote code, make network requests, display advertising, or share data with third parties.

Permissions

• activeTab allows the extension to access the current tab only after the user invokes Color Picker.
• scripting allows the picker interface to be inserted into that active tab.
• clipboardWrite allows the selected HEX value to be copied to the user's clipboard.
• contextMenus adds the “What's the hex?” command to the page context menu.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in this document with a revised “Last updated” date.
